Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small values a website can ask a browser to retain and return with later requests. Local storage is another browser mechanism that can retain values between visits. These technologies are different from ordinary temporary page memory and from a file that you deliberately download.
The static website code
The articles, navigation and message tool supplied by this website do not set cookies, use localStorage or sessionStorage, or include advertising and analytics trackers. The mobile menu and scroll reveals use temporary page state only. Reading a guide does not require an advertising or analytics preference.
A separately provided site consent control may retain your preference so it can honour your selection on later visits. If shown, use its Accept or Essential Only controls to choose whether optional technologies are permitted. Accepting a preference does not, by itself, mean that this static site contains optional tracking.
The contact tool
Message entries remain in active page memory while you use the tool. Choosing Copy places the text on your clipboard. Choosing Download saves a text file to a location managed by your browser. Neither action uses a tracking cookie or submits the text to us.
Browser autofill, session restoration, clipboard history and device synchronisation are controlled by your browser and operating system. Those features may retain information independently of this site's code.
Managing your browser
You can inspect and delete cookies and website storage through your browser's privacy or site-data settings. Deleting a stored consent choice may cause the consent control to ask again. Blocking storage does not prevent access to the editorial pages or the local message generator.
Clearing website data does not necessarily delete a downloaded file or remove information already copied to clipboard history. Manage those separately on your device. Ordinary browser caching of styles, scripts and images is distinct from behavioural tracking.
External links and future changes
External reference sites apply their own storage policies after you follow their links. We do not load those services as embedded page resources. If we introduce optional analytics or other non-essential technologies, this notice and the relevant consent information must be updated before those technologies are used.
